As part of our continued expansion, we're looking for a Technical Consultant to work in our Edinburgh office.
The ideal person will had a strong IT background specifically working with application migrations and application discovery and also have ideally within a large-scale consulting/professional services environment (though this is not essential).

Research, identify, collate and document business application technical requirements.
Review discovery data, dependency data and application landscape data for the purposes of evidencing recommendation rationale.
Document and present analysis and recommendations in an accurate, clear and convincing manner to Senior Technical Architects and Technical Design Boards.
Gain understanding of the business organisational structure and the use of applications across the estate.
Support the Business Analyst team through application and infrastructure analysis.
Assist technical resources through application discovery and analysis.
Provide guidance on application roadmaps to peers.
Ensure analysis and outputs adhere to governance standards at all times.
Previous large scale, highly governed, Enterprise Application Support/Analysis experience.
System administrator experience in one of the following technical domains.
Unix (AIX, Solaris, Redhat, HPUX)
Enterprise Storage Solutions (EMC, IBM, HP, NetApp) and connectivity (SAN/NFS/iSCSI)
Database (Oracle preferred, MySQL, Sybase, MS-SQL)
Middleware (WebSphere, MQ, PowerCenter, Connect:Direct)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of conveying ideas, clearly articulating technical solutions and applying knowledge to challenging tasks.
